Teachers Information

Dear Prospective Teachers,

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Creative Learning Connection.  We are thrilled to have our classroom spaces well used, and to offer homeschooling families in the area more classes to choose from.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to make some changes in the way we do classes here at CLC.  In order to help us pay our bills, and to help us keep our sanity, we’ve begun the following payment requirements.

We will be requiring a deposit at the beginning of each semester – ½ of the deposit is a fee and is non-refundable.  The other ½ may be returned at the end of the semester, completely, partially, or not at all, depending on how the semester goes.  (We will be deducting $5 for every student/parent that shows up for a cancelled class because they were not notified…We have lost track of how many times we have had to send students home this year that didn’t get the notice of a cancelled class. If you use up all of your deposit before the semester is over, you will be expected to make another deposit.)

Additionally, we will be charging a rental fee, based on what you charge your students.  We would like to be paid 10% of your tuition fees, in the same manner that you collect them.  (If you charge by the week, you may pay us weekly, if you charge by the month you may pay us that way…At this point, we strongly discourage teachers from charging for more than a month at a time.  If you have any questions about this, we will be happy to answer them.)

At this point we have 3 different size classrooms available.  Once you have an idea of what you want to teach and when, please contact Catherine (cmmjaime@alum.mit.edu) with the days & times you are thinking about, and which size classroom you would prefer to use.  Please do not advertise a class until we have made sure it fits into the schedule.  Classrooms are generally available on a first come, first serve basis.

The above mentioned deposits are based on classroom size:  The total deposit for each semester is $100 for the large classroom, $80 for the medium classroom, and $60 for the small one.

If you want to teach something for less than a semester, or just use the smallest room for tutoring, we can discuss appropriate financial arrangements.
