October Happenings at Creative Learning Connection
We will be open this Saturday, October 2nd, from 9:00 a.m.
to 5 p.m., during the Madison Street Festival. We will be
having a one day sale Saturday – 20% off everything in the
store.
Chess Club continues Wednesdays, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $2.50/student/month (or $1.00/week)
Back to School Fun for Moms – “Using Games in Your
Homeschool”
Thursday, October 7th. Fellowship begins at 6:30 p.m.;
Catherine will begin sharing at 7:00.
She will demonstrate her timeline games and her math games,
and also explain how to use other games to add another
dimension to your homeshooling package.
Please RSVP by October 5th. (40% off timeline games and
math games during the workshop!)
Please help me welcome a new teacher at Creative Learning
Connection – Karli. Karli is teaching two workshops this
month to help our students understand the political system,
as we move closer to Election Day. These student workshops
are geared for students ages 12 and up. The deadline to
register for each workshop is the week before (October 5th
and October 19th, respectively). Classes will be cancelled
if we do not have enough students.
Student Workshop -- Electoral College: Tuesday, October
12th, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. We will examine the purpose of
the Electoral College and the history as to how it came
about. Cost is $10/student.
Student Workshop -- Politcal parties/voting:: Tuesday,
October 26th, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Politcal
parties/voting: We will examine the 2 politcal party
system, the political parties from the beginning. We will
also discuss the all important question, does my vote
count? Cost is $10/student.
This is a great movie to help show students the political
process – and how the electoral college works: The One and
Only, Genuine Original Family Band. This is one of Cathy’s
all-time favorite “old Disney” movies, and a great one to
see during an Election year. We will be showing it and
discussing it (slightly) on Tuesday, October 19th, from
1:00 – 3:15 p.m. There will be no charge for students who
are attending one of the election-based student workshops;
other students are $5, or $10/family.
