Fall Classes at Creative Learning Connection
All classes are scheduled to begin the week after Labor Day
(September 13 – 16)
Catherine Jaime, “mom of 12”, has been educating her own
children at home for the last 23 years. She began giving
classes for other homeschoolers more then 13 years ago. In
2002 she opened Creative Learning Connection in downtown
Madison – as a resource center for homeschooling families –
a place to buy/sell used materials, a place to find
supplemental materials regardless of the basic curriculum
you are using, and a place for classes and workshops.
Catherine is happy to share her schedule for this upcoming
school year.
Classes for Junior High/High School Students:
Algebra 1 & 2
Text: Algebra VideoText (beginning of 2 year course)
Times: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. – 10:30
a.m.
Cost: $80/semester – includes all materials (except
calculator)
Old Testament History (Bible and History class)
Text: Remembering God’s Chosen Children (from Eagle’s
Wings)
Times Mondays 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Cost: $4/week
Note: Each students needs a copy of the text and a 3-ring
notebook – both of which can be purchased here or
elsewhere.
Geometry
Text: Teaching Company’s video based Geometry
Times: Mondays 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $3/week
Note: This is meant to supplement other Geometry
studies.
Constitution Class
Times: Mondays 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $4/week
Note: This is an extensive introduction to the history
of the U.S. Constitution, and the Constitution itself. We
will look at critical documents that came before the
Constitution, the American Revolution, and through the
ratification process.
Shakespeare
Text: Shakespeare plays (which we will read aloud, and
discuss briefly)
Times: Thursdays 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Cost: $4/week
Note: We read aloud the plays, from beginning to end,
discuss them briefly, and oftentimes watch the video
version. We also look at the historical background for the
historically based plays.
Classes for Elementary Students:
Science
Text: Considering God’s Creation from Eagle’s Wings
Times: Thursdays 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $3/week
Note: Each students needs a copy of the text and a 3-ring
notebook – both of which can be purchased here or
elsewhere.
U.S. Geography/History – 1 state/week
Times: Thursdays 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $4/week – includes all materials, including 3-ring
notebook
Note: We will be covering the states in the order they
joined the country – looking at the state
bird/flower/flag/map/etc. We will also look briefly at the
history related to that state.
