You Be the Judge!
During the week of June 9 - 13, Birmingham, Alabama will host the 2008 National Speech and Debate Championship for the NCFCA league. Approximately 500 home educated students along with their families will travel from all over the country to compete. The competition consists of ten different speech events and two types of debate. It will span five days and take place in the old Berry Middle School building at 2826 Columbiana Road in Hoover. We need people from the community to judge the various events.
This is how you can help: We need about a thousand judges from all areas of the community. No experience is required! All we need you to do is commit a three-hour block of time on one day to judge either speech or debate. You will receive on-site instruction on how to judge the event you’ve signed up for. Snacks and light meals will be provided.
If you are interested in participating, please visit http://www.NCFCAJudges.com to register and choose your dates and times. If you know of someone who might also be willing to help, please either direct them to that website or send their contact information to Interested@NCFCAJudges.com. We will be happy to follow up with them.
The NCFCA is the third largest speech and debate league in the country. As you might imagine, it is a tremendous task to secure one thousand community judges for our national tournament. Any interest and subsequent participation will be greatly appreciated.
Questions? Contact our Judge Coordinator, Kellie Andrews, at Kellie@NCFCAJudges.com or 1-888-NCFCA-08 for more information.
Thank You for Helping!
