Please email Cathy at cmmjaime@alum.mit.edu or call her at 325—3305. Parents may stay with their students for workshops, or drop them off at the beginning. Constitution Class & Shakespeare Class are ongoing classes aimed at junior high and high school students. Constitution Class is $3/week; Shakespeare Class is $4/week. Chess Club is for all students who have a working knowledge of the game. Cost is $2.50/month. Government Club is for junior high and high school students. Elections Workshop: Friday, February 27th, 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 8 and up, cost is $10/student. This will be the first of many workshops this year to help our students understand what the election process is all about. History of New York City Workshop: Friday, March 5th, 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $10/student. This workshop will introduce students to the unique features of this city – its architecture, its art, its role in our country over the last centuries. St. Patrick’s Day Workshop: Friday, March 12th, 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $10/student. This workshop will look at the history and traditions of St. Patrick’s Day. Origami Workshop: Friday, March 19th from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. & Friday, April 16th from 1:30 – 3:00 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $8/student. This class is being taught by Cathy’s 15-year-old son, Zachariah.) Passover Workshop: Friday, March 26th, 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $10/student. This workshop will look at the history and traditions of Passover, as well as the connection to Good Friday and Easter. Easter Workshop: Friday, April 9th, 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $7/student. This workshop will look at the history, traditions, and famous hymns of Easter. Lewis and Clark Workshop: Friday, April 23rd, 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 7 and up, cost is $7/student. This workshop will look again at Lewis and Clark and their “journey of discovery” in 1804. History of the English Bible Workshop: Friday, April 30th, 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. Aimed at ages 8 and up, cost is $7/student. This workshop will look briefly at the history of our Bible and the Protestant Reformation. Club Invention – A 4 week hands-on, intense science experience for students ages 7 – 11. The cost for the 8 hour club is $90. Look for more details on our website and in the store. Used Book Sales: Thursdays, March 4th and April 8th, from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. Please call or email to sign up for a space. No charge to buy or sell. Each family will take care of their own sales, and their own money. Moms’ Meeting: “How to do a Unit-Study based, or Relaxed Home School” Thursday, March 18th at 6:30 P.M. Cathy Jaime will share from her 22-years of experience on how to relax, and how to “do” unit studies. Moms’ Meeting: “How to teach multiple ages” Thursday, April 29th at 6:30 P.M. Cathy Jaime will share from her experiences of teaching 12 children (the 6th of whom is about to graduate).
