Veterans Day/Mock Trial

November 13, 2007

I hope everyone had a great Veterans Day weekend, and we
join the country in celebrating the work of our veterans
through the years!

I want to apologize if anyone came to the store yesterday
after we had announced that we would be open. I had taken
21 high school students to Montgomery for a High School
Mock Trial competition this past weekend, and a friend was
going to open the store Monday during our absence. Much to
everyone's surprise and pleasure, we found out at 11:00
p.m. Sunday evening that one of our teams had made it to
the top of the competition, meaning they were going to go
up against the other top team in a final trial Monday
morning -- and my friend's daughter was on that team.

Needless to say, we thought it more important for Mom to be
in Montgomery Monday morning to watch her daughter compete,
than to have her rush back to Madison to open the store.

I hope that that didn't cause any inconvenience to anyone.
We do go to great lengths to be open when we say we will
be! And we certainly will not be making a habit of this.

We want to offer our congratulations to the students that
competed with us this year! We took 3 teams. Our veteran
team took 1st place in the state, and our other 2 teams
(both comprised mostly of newer, younger students) both
placed in the top 10!!! They all worked very hard
preparing during the last 2 months, and I am proud of all
of them!!!
