July 2, 2007
July News at Creative Learning Connection In addition to our regular weekly hours (Monday – Thursday, 12 – 5 p.m.), we are also open the 1st Friday and Saturday of each month (also 12 – 5 p.m.). * * * * With Independence Day around the corner, this is a great time to be thinking about American History! We have some exciting new history products available now: on Jamestown, Lewis and Clark, National Parks and more. We are working on getting them on our website as soon as possible. * * * * Cindy Rushton is sponsoring an on-line History Event this week. I will be her first speaker, Tuesday, July 3rd, and there are several exciting speakers this weekend as well. Cindy’s write up on the Conference follows at the end of the newsletter. To sign up for the Conference, you may follow this link: http://www.Talk-a-Latte.com/SuperHistorySeminar.html It costs $30, but you get a lot of neat stuff for that price! Movie Nights Calling all kids ages 6-12! Join us for a night of movies, munchies and making new friends. Friday, July 6th we will be watching “Johnny Tremain” Please bring a favorite drink and $3 each, or $10 per family for pizza if you would like to join in on the pizza (strictly optional) Mom and Dad are welcome to stay. Cost $10, includes most supplies. You may pre-register at CLC. Contact Betty Wilson at 772-5891 for more information. * * * * Used Book Sales Now is a great time to start selling the things we're done with, and picking up "new" things for next year. If you have books and other great home school related materials to sell, we provide the space (and sometimes a table). You bring your books and your cash (to make change). There is no charge to buy or sell. And no obligation. (Though leaving your leftovers on consignment afterwards is always an option!) The dates we currently have on the calendar for sales this summer are: Monday, July 16th Thursday, August 16th September -- TBD Those sales begin at 7:00 p.m. and go to approximately 9:00 p.m. Sellers may arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 to set up their books. Please contact Catherine at cmmjaime@alum.mit.edu or 256-325-3305, to sign up for a space at either of these upcoming sales. And please help spread the word to others who might be interested. The more who participate, the more we all benefit. * * * * Join us for our: History Super Seminar Weekend!
