A heads up on two upcoming events at Creative Learning
Connection:
Next Used Book Sale is this week: Monday, June 18th, more
details follow...

...This summer’s August Conference will be held at Creative
Learning Connection, for Two Days, instead of One – Friday,
August 3rd, and Saturday, August 4th. We are currently
working on an exciting lineup of workshops on both days.
Please mark your calendar, and we will keep you posted.
Next Used Book Sale, Monday, June 18th
People bringing books may arrive 6:00 –- 6:30 p.m.
to start setting up their table and books. There is no
charge to participate. (Leaving unsold books afterwards on
consignment is an option, but not a requirement.)
You will be collecting your own $ for books sold that day –
so you may want to bring sufficient change, small bills,
etc.
We have no shortage of space, but we do have a shortage of
tables that we can provide, so if you would like to use one
of our tables, please contact us here at C.L.C. A.S.A.P. to
sign up for a table.
If you would like to bring your own table, please just
e-mail or call and let us know you are bringing a table so
that we can have a headcount for “vendors”!

New Consignment Policies at CLC
Please carefully read through these policies before
consigning items at CLC.
What may be consigned?
We accept most teachers’ manuals, student books with little
or no writing in them, literature, unit study materials,
manipulatives and much more. The Owner has the final say,
based on what she deems saleable.
What % of selling price does the Consignor receive?
After items have sold, Consignor receives 75% of selling
price as in-store credit, or 50% of selling price in the
form of a check.
When are checks issued?
Checks are issued by the 15th of the month for sales from
the prior month(s). Checks are issued only when the check
amount reaches at least $25. Checks must be cashed within 6
months of their issue date or they will be cancelled and
not reissued.
Who prices items?
Our objective is to find the prices that will best meet the
needs of the Consignor, the Customer, and CLC. The Owner
prefers to price all materials herself; items that are
under $2 are only priced by the Owner. If the Consignor
prices items, it is understood that the Owner may adjust
the prices up or down as she sees fit.
How and when can items be dropped off?
It is preferred that materials be dropped off when the
Owner is available to go through them with the Consignor.
The Owner will price the books and the Consignor will be
responsible for filling out the paperwork at the same time
(if the Owner, or other staff at CLC, fill out the
paperwork, there will be a $0.10/item charge). If the
Owner is unavailable, you may leave your items, or take
them with you and make an appointment to come back at a
later time. Items dropped off when the Owner is not
present are left at the risk of the Consignor – prices may
be adjusted and any items deemed unacceptable will be
donated to the Thrift Store.
How are items under $2 handled versus items $2 or more?
Items that are priced at $2 or more are listed on our
consignment form. Items under $2 are not numbered and they
are not listed on the paperwork. Once they have been priced
by the Owner, 50% in in-store credit is automatically given
to the Consignor.
How are pick ups handled?
Consignors will be responsible for pulling all items they
choose to pick up. CLC will not pull books off the shelf.
All unsold items become the property of CLC after 12
months. Reminders will not be sent out; it is the
responsibility of the Consignor to pick up any remaining
items before the 12 month period is up, if desired.
Liability?
We go to great lengths to take care of the books and other
items left in our care. But, if something happens in spite
our best efforts, CLC assumes no liability for the loss of,
or damage to, items consigned.
