I’m the Mom; I Don’t Have to Know Calculus:
The Self-Teaching Method of Homeschooling
with Joanne Calderwood,
Normandy, TN

Joanne Calderwood is a former elementary school teacher who
has always homeschooled her eight children, devising a
methodology over the years that has enabled their children
to become self-teaching. She and her husband both work
full time AND run a home business. Her oldest son Nick
scored 35 out of 36 on the ACT exam after his freshman year
and his SAT score is 1520. He is currently 16 and vying for
one of six full scholarships to the college of his choice.
And her other children are not far behind! The amazing
thing is he teaches himself! So do her other children!

Learn how YOUR children can also become self-motivated,
self-teaching students utilizing the curriculum you
currently have! Avoid "Homeschool Burnout" and encourage
life-long learning with The Self-Teaching method of
education. Joanne will speak on the use of a planning
system (not necessarily hers) to motivate and encourage
parents and children alike. It is the actual short-term
goal-setting, along with a good planning system, that is
the foundation for creating the self-learning atmosphere.
She will be delighted to share with us the process,
benefits, and the ultimate results to help you and your
children enjoy educational FREEDOM in your own home school!
It's all about setting our children free to study on their
own to learn with confidence and excellence! The "How-to
Homeschool" topic is addressed from the standpoint of
working with students grades K-6 and then students grades
7-12. The subject of planning is of major importance to
beginning homeschoolers as well as “oldies.” Making
homeschooling a joy for families is her goal. This goal is
generally achieved by setting parents free to work with
their children to develop a self-learning environment. She
will also give a bit of advice concerning dealing with
"difficult" children.

Joanne’s new manual, A Self-Teaching Manual: I'm the MOM; I
Don't Have to Know Calculus is available at her table.

Caution: Your Homeschool May Never Be the Same!
