August Happenings at Creative Learning Connection
www.CreativeLearningConnection.com
(8006 Old Madison Pike, Madison, AL)

Regular Hours
We continue to be open our regular hours, Monday –
Thursday, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. We will be open some
additional hours during the month as well, see below:

Sales Tax Holiday Hours
Yes, most of what is in the store qualifies for the
tax-free break this coming weekend (all books $30 and less,
which is most of them; all educational software; and all
school supplies). We will be open Friday, August 4th from
12:00 – 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.
(Yes, that does overlap our Conference…we are trying to
make it easy for folks coming from out of town to do both!)
If it’s normally difficult to get to the store, since we
are not usually open on weekends, here’s your chance.

Third North Alabama Educators’ Conference
Yes, our Conference is coming up quickly: Saturday, August
5th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A day meant to encourage and inspire Home Educators,
wherever they are in their journey!
Location: Central Church of Christ
415 Clinton Ave East, (near Downtown) Huntsville
Details on the Exhibitors and Workshops follows towards the
end of the newsletter.

Last Used Book Sale of the Season
You may bring Used Books in at any time during the year to
consign, but we have one more time set up to sell them
yourself:
Monday, August 14th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
You may arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 to set up.
Please contact Cathy to reserve a table:
cmmjaime@alum.mit.edu or 256-325-3305. Space is not an
issue, but we have a limited number of tables that we can
provide.
Because of the sale, our hours on August 14th will be
extended: We will be open 12:00 – 9:00 p.m. that day.

Government Club Open House
If you would like to find out more about our Government
Club (for students 7th – 12th grade), find out how Mock
Trial works, or what the big deal about Youth Legislature
is, please join us for our Open House. This is for parents
and students. Refreshments will be provided.
Saturday, August 26th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Please RSVP
with an approximate head count, so we ensure enough chairs
are set up…)

Fall Classes
Most of the classes at CLC will begin in September, but
this is the time to sign up for them. We are very excited
about the range of classes that we are able to offer this
year. Please check out the list at the end of the
newsletter, and contact me or the teacher for more details,
or to sign up for any of them. Most classes need at least
5 students in order to take place, and they have various
maximums.
