Unit Study Workshops
February 26, 2006
Sorry to post this again, but we've added extra dates on the Unit Study Workshop, and I wanted to make sure everyone knew their options. All 4 of the workshops will be more or less the same -- the idea was just to make the workshop more accesible to people's schedules. Making and Using Unit Studies Are you ready for a more relaxed approach to educating your children? Are textbooks driving you all to distraction? Let Catherine Jaime, 24 year homeschooling veteran, share with you some ideas and techniques for making your own unit studies. She will present ideas about teaching Lewis and Clark, Presidents, States, the Civil War, and many more. She will help you lay out a plan for your next exiting study. Whether you are teaching 1 student or 12 students, she will share with you many ways to make the process more enjoyable! There is no cost for this workshop, though you are welcome to bring a snack to share, and there will be plenty of opportunities to shop before or after! In an attempt to meet the needs of some of the Moms who don't live so close to the Madison/Huntsville area, we've decided to offer this at three different times. When you RSVP, please be sure to mention the day you plan to attend. The first 30 minutes of each session are dedicated to snacking and fellowshiping, we hope to begin the actual talk soon after that. Friday, March 3rd, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 17 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. These are all being held at Creative Learning Connection, 8006 Old Madison Pike, in Madison. (Half-way between Slaughter Rd and Hughes Rd). Let us know if you need more specific directions. To RSVP, contact Cathy at cmmjaime@alum.mit.edu or 256-325-3305. Be sure to include which date you are signing up for.
