Much has happened in the history of our country on the path to equity between the races.Some of it has been good – much of it has been very sad.I have not attempted to chronicle everything along that road – but I have tried to hit the high and low points along it.I have worked to make this booklet as complete as possible for work of its size.But, I apologize in advance for any critical omissions that may have inadvertently occurred as I put it together.
As I conducted this study, several different categories of events seemed to jump out at me, including:“Society”, “Government”, “Military”, and “Sports”. These categories are by no means exhaustive, or exclusive.I have placed the events of this timeline in one or more of these categories in an attempt to more clearly show what happened.May this little 40-page booklet motivate you to learn more about this important part of our country’s past (and present)!
